Later the president of ITE-Imperial asked him to be Director of Planning for the corporation. Some three acquisitions later, he ended up with the US arm of Brown Boveri as Vice President of Engineering and then as Technical Planning Vice President. Although his work for BBC was in engineering line management, it ended up very focused on strategic business planning, particularly on the global implications of product planning decisions.
In his career with both GE and BBC, Bob learned to apply simple techniques that helped time-pressured managers take substantial control over future uncertainties. Most importantly, he came to understand the fundamental benefit of closely integrating with knowledgeable and supportive colleagues.
After moving to south Florida Bob helped put together the first practical business plan for the Palm Beach County Health Department; he also continues as Professor in the School of Management at Walden University.
A former Naval Aviator, Bob Jenks has AB and MBA degrees, both from Harvard.
He and his wife Ginny live in North Palm Beach, Florida.
